The awakening of ArtZmosphere requires a face lift and some safety improvements, along with stronger programming. We in Belize are quite familiar with clearing debris and rebuilding after a hurricane blazes through; and recovery from the recent era of shutdowns and upheavals require similar efforts. It is time to roll up our sleeves and DO IT! But help is needed. Funding is necessary for supplies and to provide stipends to support our hard working community which is ready to help with the effort but whose priority right now is in generating at least some modest income to help support themselves and their families.
Your support now will help us to address some of our most immediate needs to renew and revamp the space, including: enclosing the openings with screens, building a more secure and aesthetically inviting entrance, establishing a simple, more efficient leadership structure, and exploring opportunities to generate support for participating artists.
We are proud to begin work with ACCESS N.M (US 501-c3) as part of our shared mission. Together we will design Artists-in-Rezidence (aka AccessArtZmosphere) programming that fosters and sponsors creative, collaborative international exchanges anchored in Belize offering opportunities for the community that ACCESS currently serves in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Beyond
Your contribution today will help fulfill our shared vision of enabling emerging artists to find their way to Psynchedelic Shak. Artists who may need support: from getting a passport for the first time – to traveling internationally or even leaving their own communities for the first time – to adding collaborative experiences of making art somewhere else. For all artists involved, these opportunities can serve as catalysts for change globally.
